We have room for four new members of our board of directors this year, starting in May. The board meets once per month, usually the third Tuesday of the month at our office in Marshfield. Board members are collectively responsible for setting the priorities for the organization. Individual board members take on tasks that meet their skill set and interests. Having a diverse array of skills and personal perspectives is valuable to our board. As long as you support the mandate of our organization “to protect and enhance the health and aesthetic qualities of the Winter River - Tracadie Bay watershed” you are welcome to join. We are also exploring a youth committee, that will meet separately from the regular board. This committee would tackle less of the formal stuff (bylaws, finances, government relations) and handle tasks where younger people may excel – communicating our message by social media, recruiting volunteers for events, finding creative sources of funding, and coming up with innovative solutions to problems. Please contact Sarah, our watershed coordinator, and former youngest member of the board of directors to get more information. info@WinterTracadie.ca or 902-314-9293
