Upcoming Events

May 26 Our Annual General Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday May 26th, from 7 to 9pm at the Corran Ban Hall (located at 1231 Route 6). Our guest speaker for the evening will be John Jamieson, Executive Director of the PEI Federation of Agriculture. The title of John's presentation will be “Engaging Farmers, Empowering Watersheds." Update: John Jamieson, has just been appointed as Deputy Minister with the PEI Department of Agriculture and Fisheries effective May 25. As a result, we will be without a guest speaker this evening. We welcome everyone to attend. We will have snacks, drinks, and free shower heads too!

June 6

We are having our annual spring hike this year on Saturday June 6th. We hope to find some Lady's Slippers in bloom, even with this late spring. Meet at the trail head at the end of the East Suffolk Road at 10am for a guided walk of the Winter River Trail.


June 10 Workshop on Nutrient Management for homeowners and aquaculture operators: 7pm at York Community Centre. Learn how you can help prevent problems associated with too much nitrate in the environment, such as techniques for maintenance of your septic system and lawn management. For Aquaculture operators, how does the nutrient loading of our groundwater effect your operations? What is the current situation in Tracadie Bay with the new opening to the bay? We will be offering free nitrate testing of your water. Sample collection bottles are available at our May 26th AGM, any Access PEI location, or by calling 902-314-9293. June 13

Volunteer tree planting event in the Brackley Commons park (14 Union Road) from 10am until noon.

June 20

Volunteer tree planting event at the old Grand Tracadie school (16 Harbour Road) from 10am until noon. At our tree planting events we will have snacks & drinks, trees & tools.
