Suffolk Road Detour

There will be road work happening on the Suffolk Road starting on Monday July 12. The dirt section at the north end of the road will be closed to through traffic, so detours will be in place. The work is expected to take at least 1.5 weeks, but could go longer. Fields along this road are still accessible from either north or south of the stream. There will likely be a higher traffic traffic volume on the East Suffolk Road over this time period.

We are working with the Department of Transportation to have the culvert replaced at Tim's Creek. Currently there are two culverts at this site, both of which are problematic for fish passage and also do not allow adequate water flow during major flooding events.

The replacement culvert will be an innovative design to better allow fish passage through the area. This project is funded through our partnerships with the PEI Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, and with Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
