Suffolk Road Detour

There will be road work happening on the Suffolk Road starting on Monday July 12. The dirt section at the north end of the road will be closed to through traffic, so detours will be in place. The work is expected to take at least 1.5 weeks, but could go longer. Fields along this road are still accessible from either north or south of the stream. There will likely be a higher traffic traffic volume on the East Suffolk Road over this time period.

We are working with the Department of Transportation to have the culvert replaced at Tim’s Creek. Currently there are two culverts at this site, both of which are problematic for fish passage and also do not allow adequate water flow during major flooding events.

The replacement culvert will be an innovative design to better allow fish passage through the area. This project is funded through our partnerships with the PEI Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, and with Fisheries and Oceans Canada.

2021 WRTBWA Annual General Meeting

Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday May 26th from 7 to 9 pm at the Tracadie Cross Community Centre (located on Station Road – between St. Peter’s Road and Donaldston Road). However, if there is a change in public health guidance, we will shift to a Zoom meeting.

Our guest speaker will be Shawn Schofield, who will discuss the “Agriculture and Environment Unit and Their Role in Government.”

Advanced registration is mandatory for all attendees. Call Sarah at 902-314-9293 or email info@WinterTracadie.ca to provide your name, phone number, number of attendees in your group, and an email address. The email address will be used to provide a Zoom meeting link if we need to pivot to a virtual meeting.

Due to public health rules, masks must be worn at all times during the meeting, and therefore snacks will not be provided.

Despite the pandemic changes, we still hope to see many of our residents and supporters at the meeting.
