2018 snowshoe hike

It is time for our annual snowshoe hike along the Winter River trail. Meet with volunteers and staff from our watershed group to hike along the trail and learn a few things along the way. The starting point is the trail head at the end of the East Suffolk Road. The trail leads to the family cabin of one of our volunteers, where we will take a break with chili, cookies, and hot chocolate. Then choose between taking the short route back to the parking area, or exploring more of the Winter River trail system on your own.

Start time 10am. Finish time depends on how long you relax at the cabin!

Please bring your own snowshoes. If you do not have snowshoes, please contact us in advance. We will arrange to borrow the required number of pairs from the Eastern Region Sport & Recreation Council. Email info@WinterTracadie.ca or call 902-314-9293.

If you are bringing a dog, please keep it on a leash.

If you are worried about the distance, such as travelling with small children, ask us about the option of taking a shorter route to the cabin (or see map in the event Discussion section).

If weather conditions are not suitable, the alternate date for this event will be February 17th. Updates will be made on the event page – https://www.facebook.com/events/937351749749227/
